Experience:
1 year experience working as a Clinical Scheduler I or equivalent experience
2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a care related field
Degrees, Licensure and/or Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
- Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse people groups.
- Intermediate to advanced phone skills; able to effectively relate via the telephone and in-person to serve the needs of internal and external customers in a manner that is professional, efficient and productive.
- Ability to effectively triage incoming telephone information with urgency and calmness
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to interact with a diverse population
- Strong written, verbal and electronic communications skills
- Must be highly flexible; able to accommodate changing needs of the department.
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision. Proven flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
- Participation in Quality Improvement / Redesign Program.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
