Provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Examines patient’s medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans. Requirements: Registration and state license required.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
Experience:
1 or 2 years’ experience preferred
Degrees, Licensure and/or Certifications:
Physical Therapy Licensure
BLS certified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Selects continuing education in programs relevant to the department
Takes responsibility for on-going learning and professional development
Completed yearly in-services (Infection Control, Fire Safety, Safety Management and Life Fair)
Takes advantage of NARMC’s continuing education programs
Participates in work related in-services
Uses non-conventional education methods, home study, on line and journals
