  • Overview

    Lead Host/Hostess oversight. Tray line/floor stock. 

    These positions perform a variety of food serve tasks in support of the hospital meal services and patient care program. The employee will work under moderate supervision with patients and staff from other departments as well as food service employees. Computer use for patient management is required. Certain positions within this category will be responsible for inventorying and restocking patient care areas with food related items.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in organizing host/hostess training, education, and onboarding
    • Assist in creation of hostess schedule
    • Provide baseline oversight to host/hostess program and report host/hostess needs and concerns to the supervising dietitian. Clear and consistent communication with supervising dietitian is required.
    • Prepare tray tickets based on diet orders and patient preferences.
    • Assist in tray line meal service.
    • Deliver meals to patients in a safe fashion. Records intakes related to all meals and transfers that date to the computer.
    • Pick up soiled meal trays in a safe fashion. Records intake related to all meals and transfers that data to the computer.
    • Visits with patients daily for preference and menu completion
    • Works with production staff to ensure that accurate preparations may be made

     

    Special Requirements

     

    This position requires one-on-one patient contact. The employee has to be patient, kind and willing to go above basic requirements to meet the needs of our patients.

    Qualifications

     

    Required

    Preferred

    Education:

    High School or equivalent

     

    Experience:

    Customer Service

    Experience in wait staff and/or host/hostess experience.

     

     

    Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

     

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

    Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets
