  • Overview

    The Benefits Manager will be responsible for the day to day administration of all benefit plansWill assess plans annually and make

    recommendations for new benefits or changes to current benefits. Will plan and conduct open enrollment each year and be responsible for

    ongoing employee enrollment, terminations, and benefit changes.  Will maintain records for each employee and report benefit changes to the

    benefit carriers.  Will ensure compliance of all benefit plans with state and federal regulations.  Will maintain plan documents, filing related to the

    plans, and filing of employee records.  Will review, reconcile and pay invoices accurately and timely.   Will report issues to the Director of Human

    Resources.   Works with HR team, Payroll, and Administration to ensure appropriate communication of benefit plans and administration of plans.


    Note:  This is an advanced level, exempt position, specializing in a human resources function. 



    • Develops, plans and implements benefit programs and plan guidelines.
    • Makes recommendations for change as appropriate.
    • Serves as a primary point of contact for employees to resolve benefit related issues. Conduct benefit termination interview to resolve any outstanding questions or issues.
    • Manages the employee benefit enrollment process, explanation of the appeals process, and manages audits.
    • Manages the annual open enrollment process.
    • Ensures proper documentation for dependent eligibility for newly hired employees and life event changes.
    • Manages the benefit changes due to Leaves of Absence and/or separations and terminations process.
    • Prepares and distributes benefit information for company.
    • Conducts presentations regarding benefits for new employee onboarding and other times throughout the year as needed.
    • Processes all 401K retirement notification, enrollment and redirection of funds. Initiate 401k loan process and payment and payoff procedures.
    • Remains informed on ACA compliance and execute ACA requirements.
    • Works with Payroll and prepares reports and balances per pay period on all deductions before sending to accounting. 
    • Works with HR team members to resolve issues and identify areas of improvement.
    • Prepares reports for Director of HR, Administration, and/or broker as appropriate.
    • Reviews, reconciles and pays benefit invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.








    High school diploma or equivalent plus an Associate’s Degree in Business or related field.

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.


    At least 5 years’ experience in benefits administration with knowledge of benefits compliance.  Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.   

    Meditech experience a plus.

    Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:


    PHR or SPHR a plus.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Must have good written and verbal communication skills, good organizational and time management skills.  Must be able to work well with all levels of staff.
