  • Overview

    A NARMC EMS Community Paramedic (CP) will utilize his/her knowledge to steer clients through the healthcare industry in the most efficient and appropriate manner to meet the needs of the patient and support proper utilization of resources.


    Assess the multifaceted needs of patients enrolled in the Community Paramedic program.


    Facilitate access to needed resources as necessary to support and maintain the wellbeing of the patient.


    Assist in patient navigation through healthcare industry to provide optimal utilization of all heath care resources.



    Actively support and promote the quality and success of NARMC EMS and the Community Paramedic Program. Function appropriately and demonstrate a high quality standard as a Community Paramedic. (Including demeanor, dress, attitude, knowledge, and skills)


    Perform the assigned daily operations of the Community Paramedic.


    Act as a representative of NARMC EMS and the CPP to the professional and private community.


    Assess and provide patient care as appropriate through direct order, general operating guidelines and established protocols.


    Assess patient needs and or barriers and facilitate appropriate access and utilization of resources to help meet those needs and to remove barriers.


    Provide and insure timely, accurate and appropriate record keeping (including patient care reports, personnel time, and statistics as requested)


    Create and maintain a cooperative working relationship between all entities utilizing the CPP including but not limited to (private physicians, hospitals, clinics, patients, families and resource groups)


    Maintain an operation understanding of the Arkansas Department of Health rules and regulations as they pertain to the operation of the CPP.


    Must complete an approved Community Paramedic within a designated time as determined by the Community Paramedic Section Chief.


    Fill the role of an Emergency Field care provider as necessary at his/her level of certification.




    EMS Licensure in the State of Arkansas (Active/Current and in good standing) at the level of EMT-Paramedic

    (must obtain the licensure of Community Paramedic within two years)




    EMS experience: (10 years active in patient care roll) / or / NARMC EMS (5 years active patient care roll)


    Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:


    Must have valid Class D drivers license

    Must provide evidence of recertification of EMT certification bi-annually

    BLS certified

    ACLS certified


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

    Must have the ability to communicate affectively at all levels. Professional, Civilian and Administrative.

    Must be physically able to perform at the level of his/her current EMS licensure in the field setting.
