Overview

Plans and directs the work of various rehabilitative healthcare professionals such as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Recreational Therapists, etc., to gain desired physical functions and/or mental responses from patients.

 

Collaborates with therapists, Rehab Services Medical Director and Orthopedic Physicians to ensure safe, quality therapy specific to patients' needs.

 

Develops and implements plans, policies and procedures regarding staff and the purchasing of supplies for the department

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the quality outcome in a cost effective manner for the facility.
  • Develops and executes business plan for expanding rehab services.
  • Works with Strategic Communications to develop the appropriate marketing materials and executes marketing strategy.
  • Provides education and direction of the team’s function, purpose and goals.
  • Communicates, collaborates and coordinates with team members to provide quality patient care and to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Provides education in the areas of clinical competency, continuous quality improvement, infection control, employee health, case management and program evaluation.
  • Recruits and manages designated clinical and support staff.
  • Evaluates and counsels team members on an ongoing basis and as appropriate.
  • Effectively generates action plan for solving problems and resolving conflicts as they occur in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

 

Bachelor's in Business or related field required, Master's in Business preferred

 

Experience:

 

3 to 5 years experience in a hospital therapy management position, including inpatient and outpatient services preferred.

 

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

 

Bachelor's in Business or related field required, Masters's in Business preferred

BLS Certification

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office
